Big Brother Justin and Big Sister Wynne Work to Shut Down Rebel Media, Tell Canadians What Media They Can View

By Jerome E  Winters

The Ontario Liberal Party and the Federal Liberals have sent out emails to their lists pressuring people to sign petitions. They use these emails as an attack on their political opponents, but we now see for the first time an attempt by Federal and Provincial governments to shut down media critical of them and many of their policies.

This is rather shocking that the Liberals are pressuring citizens as to what media they can read or view. This is run in concert with others trying to shut down Rebel's ad revenue and business. Yet it appears the government is behind it all.

The contents of the two emails asking citizens to sign petitions are below. One must assume they will then claim these government efforts are grassroots efforts and use them as a reference in creating new laws attacking free speech rights.

Jerry --

As Justin Trudeau said this week, we know that Canada is not immune to racist violence and hate. Liberals and all Canadians condemn it in all of its forms.

For Andrew Scheer though, this condemnation has been harder to come by -- with his Conservative Party maintaining close ties with the far-right Rebel Media organization.

The Canadian Press has described The Rebel as "an organization increasingly linked with the alt-right, the name most commonly used to represent the white nationalist movement in the U.S. involved in the incidents in Virginia over the weekend."

Andrew Scheer's campaign manager is listed as one of The Rebel's Directors. Scheer has given The Rebel several interviews, including one just minutes after his victory speech the night he became Leader of the Conservative Party. In fact, more than a quarter of Conservative MPs have done the same.

All of this despite the Rebel Media organization's longstanding expression of far-right and hateful positions. One of their hosts has even praised the "well thought-out ideas" of neo-Nazi leader Richard Spencer.

Canadians are deeply concerned that the Conservative Party and the Rebel Media are still struggling to part ways. Andrew Scheer has still refused to denounce and end all ties with the organization.

Tell the Conservative Party what the rest of Canadians already know: Hate has no place in Canadian politics.

Add your name to call upon Andrew Scheer and the Conservative Party to end all ties with the Rebel Media organization, and to instead help unite our country with leadership that brings Canadians together.

Jerry -

You might have seen the news about the Rebel Media, Canada's self-styled alt-right media outlet.

Members of the group talked about their support for the alt-right, the white supremacist movement and were condemned by people across the political spectrum.

But Ontario Conservative leader Patrick Brown has remained deafeningly silent.

We want to give him the benefit of the doubt. But his lack of response is concerning.

Maybe it's because during his time as PC leader, he sat down with Rebel co-founder Ezra Levant for a one-on-one interview where he attacked the Premier and our plan for a fairer Ontario.

He also said he'd "love" to come by again and speak with the Rebel. And he did that, speaking with the Rebel at least two more times.

Gary, we can all agree that hate has no place in Ontario. And people deserve to know where Patrick Brown and the Ontario Conservative Party stand on this important issue.

We are calling on Patrick Brown and the Ontario Conservatives to denounce Rebel Media and say he will never appear on the station again. Together we can show them that hate has no place in our province.

Sign The Petition

If you believe Ontario Conservative leader Patrick Brown should forcefully denounce Rebel Media please consider signing our petition.

With enough supporters and public pressure, we can force him and his Conservative Party to categorically state that they do not support The Rebel.

Thank you.
