 Conflict of $Interest$: Mulroney's GST Bad Guy is Harper's New US Ambassador By Gary Morton at
http://CitizensontheWeb.ca If you’re a Western Conservative, and your ears are still ringing and your lungs still hurting, from the shouts of protest over Stephen Harper’s Cabinet … never fear, because you’re sure to get angrier now that he’s Done it Again. Today’s Globe reports that Mulroney era finance minister Michael Wilson will be our new US Ambassador. He’s the man who brought us the hated GST and it appears he’s being rewarded and sent to the trough for his work on Harper’s Ontario campaign. Wilson is a legend out West and across Canada. You’ve heard of Big Foot and now you’ve heard of Big GST Stinker … and it gets stickier when one looks at a number of former Mulroney staffers now playing key roles and sitting in as advisors to Harper. They include senators Hugh Segal and Marjory LeBreton. The Harper Government in power now looks like a bizarre Frankenstein monster, composed of remnants of the Harris Government, Mulroney’s people and unelected or floor crossing power brokers.
