    Election 2003

    It’s a Liberal Sweep - Oct.2.2003
    Seats:
    Liberals 72 | PCs 24NDP 7
    Popular Vote:
    Liberals 46.5% | PCs 34.6%NDP 14.7% |
    Greens 3%

Judgment came to the Tories in Toronto, yet they still managed to cling to parts of Ontario like a dirty shirt. A sad note is that the NDP did not get enough seats to gain official party status.
They had 15 percent of the popular vote, meaning the public will be cheated if they are not granted that status in the legislature. The Greens should now be taken seriously as they have gained 3 percent of the popular vote.

    Toronto Tories Wiped Out
    – Oct.2.2003
A combination of kitten-eaters and the NDP gained the popular vote and mopped the floor with Toronto’s remaining Tories.
We now have nineteen Liberals and three NDP MPPs.
For the NDP, Michael Prue, Rosario Marchese and Marilyn Churley came through the liberal sweep alive. Liberal incumbents like Mike Colle, David Caplan and Gerard Kennedy swatted off opponents like they were flies. Kathleen Wynne killed off David Turnbull in Don Valley West, one of the Tories’ safest seats. Donna Cansfield took Etobicoke Centre. Quaadri Shafiq grabbed Etobicoke North. Laurel Broten smashed Morley Kells in Etobicoke Lakeshore. Brad Duguid pulled the rug from under Marilyn Mushinski in Scarborough Centre. Mary Anne Chambers silenced Steve Gilchrist in Scarborough East. In Scarborough SouthWest Lorenzo Berardinetti knocked out Tory Dan Newman. David Zimmer iced David Young in Willowdale.
